🏌️‍♂️ CCGL Preseason Stroke Play – Event Description
The CCGL Preseason consists of three 9-hole stroke-play rounds used to establish player handicaps for the upcoming match-play season.
Each player competes individually, keeping their own scorecard — no head-to-head scoring this round.
Rules:
-
Format: 9-Hole Stroke Play
-
Each stroke counts toward your total score
-
Lowest total score wins the week (for bragging rights only)
-
All rounds are played under the same simulator settings:
-
Gimmes: 8 ft
-
Tees: Men’s tees as agreed upon by league officials (standard is 5,900 – 6,500 yards for 18 holes)
-
Mulligans: None, except as outlined below
-
-
Breakfast Ball: One (1) “breakfast ball” per round is permitted — drives only.
-
Simulator Misread: If a player believes the simulator misread a shot, they may replay it as a free mulligan — but only if the present league group as a whole agrees it was a misread.
-
No other mulligans or re-hits are permitted.
Preseason scores will be averaged to calculate each player’s simulator handicap using:
(Average Score – Course Par) × 0.8
Handicaps will take effect starting December 10 for the official 12-week Match-Play Season.
Final say of all league issues are determined by league officials.
